Community

We believe an informed community is an empowered community.

We regularly meet with community groups and organisations to ensure people are informed about the technical, environmental and social issues around mine rehabilitation.

We hold Open Houses and events and we welcome community members contacting us directly for information and conversation about mine rehabilitation.

We work with a number of stakeholders including:

  • Gunaikurnai Land and Waters Aboriginal Corporation (GLaWAC)
  • Community groups and advocacy groups including Friends of Latrobe Water and Environmental Justice Victoria
  • School groups and education networks
  • Latrobe Valley Authority
  • Latrobe Health Assembly
  • Government agencies and representatives
  • Latrobe City Council and neighbouring councils
  • Mine operators
  • Research groups and universities including Federation University and CRC TiME

We are guided by community feedback and consultation when we develop our engagement projects and resources.
