Visitors to Mine Land Rehabilitation Authority (MLRA) open houses and community events may be familiar with our wooden model of the Latrobe Valley – a detailed representation of the region featuring the three declared mines, surrounding townships and transport routes.
Commissioned several years ago, the model has been an important engagement tool, helping community members visualise the landscape and understand the scale and context of mine rehabilitation across the Valley.
We’re pleased to share that the model now has a semi-permanent home in the foyer of the Latrobe Valley GovHub. It is displayed in a beautifully crafted custom table built by the Traralgon Men’s Shed.
The model will be on display during MLRA events at the GovHub. Keep an eye on our channels for event dates and take the opportunity to explore this unique representation up close.
