Introducing Andrew Mains
Andrew is the Education Officer for the Mine Land Rehabilitation Authority (MLRA).
Andrew delivers high quality educational sessions to secondary schools and community organisations, about mine rehabilitation. Andrew collaborates with key stakeholders to facilitate on-site field trips and to enhance school curriculums.
Specific area of expertise
Andrew has worked in the education industry for over 20 years as a teacher, program presenter, and lecturer. Andrew graduated from Monash University with Arts and Science qualifications. He also gained his teaching degree and has taught at both the Primary and Secondary levels. He has lectured to beginning teachers as part of their university courses. He supervised the Science in Schools project and has also led Areas of Learning, school operations subcommittees, and was an active member of school councils.
